Highlighting is the core feature that makes Language Lit so powerful! Here's how it works:

How to Highlight Text 📝​

  1. Simply drag your mouse (or finger on mobile) across any word or sentence you want to learn
  2. Instantly see the translation appear in one of two ways:
    • In the right pane (when open)
    • In a convenient tooltip (when the pane is closed)

Smart AI-Powered Translations 🤖​

Every translation is powered by advanced AI (either Gemini or Deepseek), providing context-aware meanings rather than generic dictionary definitions.

Powerful Highlight Actions ⚡​

Once you've highlighted text, you can:

  • 🔊 Play Audio: Click the sound button to hear perfect pronunciation
  • 💾 Save Word/Sentence: Click the save button to create a flashcard for later practice
  • 🗑️ Delete Saved Item: After saving, the save button transforms into a delete button
  • 📚 View Context (Tooltip only): See usage examples and grammatical information. When the pane is open, the context is automatically displayed.

Tooltip Mode:

  • Quick, unobtrusive translations
  • Compact interface with buttons for audio, saving, and expanding context
